Fernando Tatis Jr. and Jason Heyward homered Saturday night and Kyle Hart tossed six scoreless innings as the San Diego Padres improved to 9-0 at home with a 2-0 shutout of the Colorado Rockies. Hart (2-0) allowed just one hit, a one-out double in the fourth inning by Kyle Farmer, and walked none while fanning four. 4/09/25 Padres get 'optimistic' injury update on shoulder of Fernando Tatis Jr. The San Diego Padres are off to one of the hottest starts in franchise history, but their early momentum now faces a serious challenge. Three of their top contributors — Fernando Tatis Jr., Jake Cronenworth, and Jackson Merrill — are dealing with injury issues that could test the club's depth moving forward. On Tuesday night, the Padres' 10-4 loss to the Athletics was overshadowed by a string of injuries. Merrill, the breakout rookie center fielder, was placed on the 10-day IL before the game with right hamstring tightness.

4/09/25 Fernando Tatis Jr. and Jake Cronenworth deal with injuries after Jackson Merrill lands on injured list. Tatis and Cronenworth are expected to miss Wednesday's series finale. After the game, Cronenworth attributed his early exit to cramping on his right side, the same area that he was hit by a fastball on Sunday.

4/02/25 Padres' Fernando Tatis Jr. drops 9-word truth bomb on setting franchise record. The San Diego Padres have come out of the gates firing, as they continued their hot streak and extended their season-starting winning streak to seven with a 5-2 win over the Cleveland Guardians. The first seven games have gone exactly according to plan for a Padres team raring to redeem itself from the sting of their NLDS defeat to the Los Angeles Dodgers, and star right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr. Following the Padres' sweep of the Guardians to remain unbeaten thus far in 2025, Tatis praised his team for the excellent baseball they've been playing. “It's just been great baseball all the way around,” Tatis said, per AJ Cassavell of MLB.com.

3/29/25 Fernando Tatis May Officially Have a New Home for Padres. The San Diego Padres are undefeated so far this season. Grabbing the first two games of 2025 against the Atlanta Braves is great, but this new shift in the batting order may make things even greater. Manager Mike Shildt shifted superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. to lead off with longtime No.1 hitter Luis Arraez moving to bat second. Tatis is batting .500 so far in this new spot with a home run, RBI, and even stealing two bases in the sample size of his first time leading off since 2023.

Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a leadoff homer and Jake Cronenworth hit a go-ahead shot leading off the eighth inning to give the San Diego Padres a 4-3 win against the Atlanta Braves on Friday night. Cronenworth drove the second pitch from Dylan Lee (0-1) several rows into the right field seats. Tatis, who has batted leadoff in the first two games, homered to left-center on Reynaldo López's first pitch.

3/28/25 Padres pregame: Again ‘playing with’ Fernando Tatis Jr. atop the order. Fernando Tatis Jr. had not hit leadoff since 2023, but he's lead off twice to start the 2025 season for the Padres

3/28/25 Fernando Tatis Jr., Padres aim to run past Braves again. If Opening Day is any indication, expect San Diego Padres right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr. to do a lot more stealing in 2025. Tatis went 3-for-4 and swiped two bases Thursday in San Diego's come-from-behind 7-4 win over the visiting Atlanta Braves. Last season, Tatis hit .276 with 21 homers and 49 RBIs but stole only 11 bases in 102 games. A new year and better health, however, appear to have returned the wheels to a player who stole a career-high 29 bases in 2023.
