7/02/25 | Chris Flexen's revival is the best story on the 2025 Chicago Cubs. The Cubs have a number of relievers dominating in 2025, but Chris Flexen's performance has been the most impressive. With all due respect to Drew Pomeranz — who has had a ridiculous season and an even more ridiculous comeback story — Chris Flexen deserves the most flowers for what he's given the Cubs' bullpen in 2025. 6/29/25 | Bullpen ready to contribute as Cubs chase series win vs. Astros. While the Cubs' seven-run fourth inning laid the foundation for an easy 12-3 road victory over the host Houston Astros on Saturday, how Chicago was able to set up its bullpen for the series rubber match on Sunday was tied to the opener. Veteran right-hander Chris Flexen worked four shutout innings of relief after the Cubs fell into a seven-run deficit on Friday and his performance enabled Chicago to preserve their bullpen for the final two games of the series. 6/12/25 | One name from the Cubs' past could suddenly be back on their radar. The Chicago Cubs haven't been shy about adding veteran castoffs to their pitching depth this season, with the hopes that they can find a diamond in the rough. In the cases of Chris Flexen and Drew Pomeranz, it has worked as the veteran pitchers have been stacking scoreless innings while pitching out of the bullpen this season. Elsewhere, the Cubs' gamble on Kenta Maeda does not appear to be going well. Through 4 starts with the Iowa Cubs this season, Maeda has an ERA of 13.89. 6/02/25 | That’s What I Like: Chris Flexen, Hyesong Kim, Rob Refsnyder. Living in the Bold North, we only have grass for, like, 6 months out of the year. The rest of the year, our yards are filled with snow or dirt from the melted snow or sink holes from the melted dirt. Yet, like clockwork, the Y chromosomes in our neighborhood all synchronize on Sunday morning and make the men step out and mow their lawns. Imagine yearning to see green all winter and then when the faintest hint of green emerges, you shout at the top of your lungs, "REV IT UP!" and you begin cranking your two stroke with the ferocity of a teenager. Extra points if you mow your lawn three times a week. ENYWHEY. What else am I supposed to lead off with when it's June? Let's get you some players. 5/16/25 | For a trio of Cubs, the City Series represents the other side of the rivalry with the White Sox. Chris Flexen always enjoyed pitching at Wrigley Field throughout his career, but his start at the historic ballpark took on a different level of intensity last year when took the mound for the White Sox. Flexen remembers it as the Sox’s most intense series of the season, one that went down in modern Major League Baseball history with the most losses. Now on the division-leading Cubs (25-19), ...
