1/16/25 Royals Loosely Linked To Ex-Orioles All-Star Outfielder. The Kansas City Royals have made a few key moves this offseason. India and Wiemer certainly help, but another piece certainly can't hurt. Jeff Passan of ESPN listed several veteran outfielders who remain free agents, including former Baltimore Orioles All-Star Austin Hays.

1/13/25 Philadelphia Phillies Will Regret Moving On From Underrated Outfielder. Ahead of the 2024 MLB Trade Deadline, the Philadelphia Phillies were looking to bolster their lineup and add some insurance to the outfield mix. 12/28/24 Remaining Outfield Free Agent Could Help Guardians Depth. Depth is still a key issue for the Cleveland Guardians as the offseason continues and spring training creeps closer. One veteran option the Guardians could sign to a short-term deal is free-agent outfielder Austin Hays. Hays started the season with the Baltimore Orioles but was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies during the July deadline.

12/25/24 Royals Could Take Chance On $10.8 Million Former All-Star After Forgettable Stint With Phillies. The Kansas City Royals enjoyed a bounce-back season in 2024, winning 86 games and securing an American League Wild Card spot after losing 106 games in 2023. Instead of being on the outside looking in, Kansas City was in the mix for a World Series title. After losing the ALDS to the New York Yankees, the Royals made a couple of key moves, but have been quiet in the month of December. Perhaps they could take a chance on outfielder Austin Hays, who Joel Reuter of Bleacher Report lists as a buy-low candidate with high upside.

12/24/24 2024-25 Offseason. As we get ready to celebrate Christmas and enjoy a much-needed winter break, here's a look at the Phillies news from the past month. Hays Non-Tendered:  On November 22nd, the Phillies non-tendered Austin Hays (of) making the short-timer a free agent. Hays' first (and only?) Phillies baseball card can be found in the 2024 Topps Chrome Update set. Romano Added to Bullpen:  On December 9th, the Phillies added All-Star reliever Jordan Romano (rhp) to their bullpen, signing him to a one-year deal for $8.5 million.
