Baltimore outfielder Austin Hays, Los Angeles Angels outfielder Taylor Ward, Houston utilityman Mauricio Dubón and New York Mets reliever Phil Bickford won their salary arbitration cases on Tuesday, giving players a 4-2 advantage with 12 cases still pending. Hays was awarded the $6.3 million he asked for over the Orioles' proposed $5.85 million.

2/05/24 Utilityman Mauricio Dubón goes to salary arbitration with Houston Astros. Houston Astros utilityman Mauricio Dubón went to a salary arbitration hearing. Dubón asked for a raise from $1.4 million to $3.5 million and the Astros argued for $3 million. A decision is expected Tuesday in his case along with those of Baltimore outfielder Austin Hays and right-hander Jacob Webb and Los Angeles outfielder Taylor Ward, which were argued last week.

(AP) — Austin Hays and the Baltimore Orioles argued the first of 18 scheduled salary arbitration cases, with the All-Star outfielder asking a three-person panel for $6.3 million on Tuesday and the team arguing for $5.85 million. A decision by Brian Keller, Allen Ponak and Jasbir Parmer is not expected until after cases involving Los Angeles Angels outfielder Taylor Ward and Houston Astros infielder/outfielder Mauricio Dubón are resolved or argued. The 28-year-old Hays hit .275 last year with 16 homers and 67 RBIs, earning $3.2 million. He is eligible for free agency after the 2025 season. Two additional Orioles remain scheduled for hearings, which run through Feb. 16: right-hander
