They haven't really had one since Shane Bieber went through his dominant spiel in the second half of the 2019 season and the entirety of the COVID-plagued 2020 and up until he had Tommy John surgery last year, causing him to miss the entirety of the 2024 season and the 2025 season up to this point. And even then, he wasn't the bonafide strongarm that Corey Kluber was, but both of them still brought Cy Young Awards to Cleveland and the Guardians need someone that can continue that trend in a durable and dominant fashion.
