7/05/25 Yankees Sign Former Reds Third Baseman. Before turning to the trade market in hopes of finding a solution at third base, the New York Yankees appear content signing veterans on minor league deals. After bringing in Nicky Lopez earlier this week, YES Network's Conor Foley reported that the Yankees are signing Jeimer Candelario. The Cincinnati Reds designated Candelario for assignment on June 23. The 31-year-old hit just .113/.198/.213 over 22 games and 91 plate appearances for Cincinnati this year before sustaining a back injury that landed him on the injured list in late April.

6/20/25 Ex-Royals Utility Man Named Team's Best 2016 Draft Pick. The Kansas City Royals have struggled a bit this season and have come back down to earth after winning 86 games last season and securing an American League Wild Card berth. The pitching staff has kept them afloat this season, but their offense has let them down. One of the reasons Kansas City has found its way back to contention is because of some smart draft picks over the years. Joel Reuter of Bleacher Report listed each team's best draft picks from 2016, and Nicky Lopez was the player listed for the Royals.

6/20/25 The Angels' bullpen will make them contenders... this year or for the future. As the Angels continue to trod along with the dog days of summer approaching, they seem to be turning a corner. Inconsistent, sure, but the glimpses of an exceptional team are there. After a month or so of the season, the only player with an ERA under 5.00 to pitch out of the bullpen for the Angels was infielder Nicky Lopez, who pitched a scoreless inning in the Opening Day onslaught in Chicago. Now, the Angels have a handful of relievers who have all been absolutely nails for the past month and change.
