6/16/25 Rockies DFA infielder Keston Hiura. June 16 - The Colorado Rockies designated first baseman Keston Hiura for assignment following Sunday's game. In a corresponding move, the club recalled first baseman Michael Toglia from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday. The Rockies did not make a move to replace Hiura on the 40-man roster. Hiura, 28, was batting .222 in eight games this season, his first in Colorado. He's a career .235 hitter with 50 home runs and 134 RBIs with the Milwaukee Brewers (2019-22), Los Angeles Angels (2024) and Rockies. Toglia, 26, is batting .194 in 54 games this season. He's hitting .203 across parts of four seasons with the Rockies, including playing in 116 games in 2024. He has 37 career home runs and 96 RBIs. The

5/31/25 Brewers' 1st-round pick getting another chance in MLB with a new team. It's sometimes hard to believe that Keston Hiura didn't work out. He was such a naturally gifted hitter from well before the moment the Milwaukee Brewers made him the No. 9 overall pick in 2017 out of UC-Irvine. And when he reached the majors for the first time in 2019, he raked. Hiura hit .303 with 23 doubles and 19 homers in just 84 games. But he was never the same again. Averages of .212, .168 and .226 over the next three seasons ended his time in Milwaukee. He didn't get to MLB at all in 2023, then hit .148 in 10 games with the Angels in 2024. Now a year later, Hiura is back in the majors. MORE: Edwin Diaz is best pitcher in MLB since discovering one leg is longer than the other The Rockies

5/16/25 Colorado Rockies' Minor League First Baseman Keston Hiura Records Wild Putout. The Albuqurque Isotopes were clinging onto a one-run lead over the Tacoma Rainiers on Thursday when their defense came through in a bizarre clutch moment. A leadoff single and double gave the Rainiers two runners in scoring position with no outs when Cole Young stepped up to the plate in the top of the fifth. Young sent a sharp grounder to first baseman Keston Hiura, hoping to plate at least one run against the Colorado Rockies' Triple-A affiliate. Jack López stayed put at third, though, all while Samad Taylor made a break from second.
