Biggio has elected to become a free agent, via David O'Brien of The Athletic. After being removed from the 40-man roster, Biggio decided to seek a new opportunity rather than report back to Triple-A. 8/24/24 | Cavan Biggio signs new contract to remain in NL West. The San Francisco Giants signed Cavan Biggio to a Minor League contract after he was released by the Los Angeles Dodgers upon being designated for assignment and clearing waivers earlier this month. The former top prospect was designated for assignment as a corresponding move to Freddie Freeman returning from the restricted list and family emergency leave. Biggio is eligible for the postseason with the Giants as he's joined the organization before the 8:59 p.m. PT deadline on Aug. 31.
