8/12/25 The son of a baseball legend is now playing for the Salt Lake Bees. Cavan Biggio, the son of Baseball Hall of Fame member Craig Biggio, is now playing for the Bees, having joined the team on Aug. 6. Biggio began the season with the Kansas City Royals, playing two months with the major league club before being sent down to Triple-A Omaha and then being released altogether two months after that. The Los Angeles Angels then signed Biggio to a minor league contract and assigned him to Salt Lake, where he made his debut on Aug. 8 with a three-hit performance.

8/08/25 Ex-Royals Utility Man Finds New Opportunity With Angels After Release. The Kansas City Royals recently cut bait with utility man Cavan Biggio. With Kansas City, the 30-year-old veteran hit just .174/.296/.246 with one home run, four RBI and a miserable .543 OPS. Now, he will start a new chapter of his career after joining the Los Angeles Angels. The Royals had optioned Biggio down to Triple-A Omaha at the end of May after his early-season struggles.

8/07/25 Angels Sign Former Dodgers, Blue Jays Veteran Utility Man. The Los Angeles Angels signed free agent first baseman Cavan Biggio to a minor league contract on Wednesday. Biggio will report to Triple-A Salt Lake. Biggio has spent all of this season with the Kansas City Royals, who signed him to a minor league deal in January. The 30-year-old made the Royals' Opening Day roster and made starts at every position except pitcher, catcher and center field.

7/25/25 Royals make surprising Cavan Biggio roster move. The Kansas City Royals made a noteworthy roster shakeup on Friday, designating veteran utility man Cavan Biggio for assignment in order to reinstate right-handed reliever Hunter Harvey from the 60-day injured list. In a corresponding move, pitcher Jonathan Bowlan was optioned to Triple-A Omaha. The decision to DFA Biggio raises eyebrows, especially given his recent resurgence at the Triple-A level. After struggling in a part-time role with the Royals to start the season, hitting just .174 with a .296 on-base percentage and .246 slugging over 83 plate appearances, Biggio was sent down to Omaha on May 25.
