The San Francisco Giants signed Cavan Biggio to a Minor League contract after he was released by the Los Angeles Dodgers upon being designated for assignment and clearing waivers earlier this month. The former top prospect was designated for assignment as a corresponding move to Freddie Freeman returning from the restricted list and family emergency leave. Biggio is eligible for the postseason with the Giants as he's joined the organization before the 8:59 p.m. PT deadline on Aug. 31.
