Dalbec was among the players in Boston's minor league system who elected free agency earlier this week, according to multiple reports. Five-year Boston Red Sox veteran first baseman Bobby Dalbec is parting with the team to test free agency, per Chris Cotillo. Dalbec was designated for assignment by the Sox back in September.
