7/25/24 | Ex-Mets infielder gets DFA'd for third time this season. Zack Short is unwanted yet again. For the third time this season, the infielder has been designated for assignment, this time by the Atlanta Braves as third baseman Austin Riley gets activated from the paternity list, the team announced. Short earned a major-league job with the New York Mets to start the season, but he was DFA'd April 26 before getting traded to the Boston Red Sox, who gave him the same fate six days after acquiring him.
