7/11/25 | Why Red Sox's Garrett Crochet Won't Pitch In MLB All-Star Game. Boston Red Sox fans may ultimately appreciate Garrett Crochet not pitching in the MLB All-Star Game. Crochet was one of several players replaced after pulling out of the Midsummer Classic. Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Casey Mize will take the Red Sox ace's spot on the American League roster. Crochet had an understandable reason for skipping Tuesday's All-Star Game in Atlanta. Source: https://nesn.com/2025/07/why-red-soxs-garrett-croc... |
7/11/25 | Red Sox's Garrett Crochet joins list of stars skipping MLB All-Star Game. The Boston Red Sox had the honor of having multiple All-Stars on their team, and one of them happened to be Garrett Crochet. Unfortunately, it looks like he will not be going to the game, according to the Boston Strong social media page. “Garrett Crochet will skip the All-Star Game, Casey Mize will replace him,” Boston Strong wrote on X, formerly Twitter. When a user asked why Crochet wouldn't be going, the social media account said, “He starts tomorrow so makes no sense to go.” Source: https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/boston-red-sox/red-so... |
7/11/25 | After a visit to the White House, the Red Sox have been in command, and other thoughts. On Tuesday morning, the Sox had played 800 regular-season games since Opening Day 2020, going 400-400. Anchored by Garrett Crochet, Brayan Bello, and Lucas Giolito, the rotation is clicking. Kids Roman Anthony, Ceddanne Rafaela, and Marcelo Mayer (they knocked in all four runs Thursday) have given the locals an infusion of enthusiasm and offense. 7/10/25 | Astros' Most Forgettable All-Star Had Quality Decade-Long Career. One rule of the Major League Baseball All-Star game is a simple one — every team must have at least one selection. It can lead to some unique selections. Last year, the Chicago White Sox went 41-121 and had one of the worst seasons in baseball history. But the White Sox had an All-Star — pitcher Garrett Crochet. On an awful team, he deserved the bid. By the All-Star game he was 6-6 with a 3.02 ERA. The White Sox went 7-13 when he pitched. He was clearly their best player. 7/09/25 | Red Sox 'Monitoring' Twins Breakout Star As Possible Rotation Upgrade: Report. The trade winds are blowing fast and furious in Boston Red Sox circles on Wednesday. Boston has an ace in Garrett Crochet, but they could absolutely use another high-end starting pitcher to key their playoff push in the second half of the season. During an appearance on MLB Central, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reported that the Red Sox were showing interest in Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Joe Ryan, who is enjoying a breakout season in 2025 with a 2.76 ERA through his first 18 appearances.
