8/08/25 Giants Unfortunately Receive Mixed Injury News Regarding Two Key Players. As the San Francisco Giants try to keep their playoff hopes alive, they have received some recent injury updates. Despite being sellers at the trade deadline, the Giants are still in the mix and could make a push for a playoff spot with some important games coming up. Recently, San Francisco saw an important player go down with an injury, and the news on him isn't good. After leaving early, trying to run out a play at first base, Jerar Encarnacion has been diagnosed with a grade two hamstring strain and will miss anywhere from four to six weeks.

8/06/25 SF Giants take series from Pirates as Encarnacion homers, leaves with injury. Jerar Encarnacion cannot catch a break. As the Giants beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-2 on Wednesday afternoon at PNC Park, Encarnacion hit his second home run in as many games but left the game with an apparent lower leg injury when trying to beat out an infield single. After being swept by both the Pirates and New York Mets during their last homestand, the Giants (58-57) responded by taking two of three from both teams during their six-game East Coast road trip. Robbie Ray turned in his second consecutive quality start, pitching six innings of two-run ball with eight strikeouts.

6/01/25 Giants Slugger Tearing Up Minor Leagues During Injury Rehab Assignment. The San Francisco Giants were off to an extremely promising start to their 2025 campaign through April and early May. While they have started to plateau a bit recently, accruing a 32-26 record, they still have plenty of moves left to be made, including receiving multiple of their players back from injury. One of the more notable players who could be set to return soon is outfielder and first baseman Jerar Encarnacion, who went on the injured list ahead of the season, but has been on a rehab assignment in recent weeks. Having him back in the lineup would be beneficial in multiple ways, but primarily because he would be able to fill the team's gap at first base. While he has not exactly proven himself as an offensive powerhouse in either of his two MLB stints as of yet, he has shown productivity at the plate in other ways, including driving in runs and scoring some himself as well.

5/25/25 Giants Slugger Set To Rejoin Team After Long Road Trip With Return Date Nearing. The San Francisco Giants have been in search of power throughout their lineup for a while. Since they play in one of the most pitcher-friendly parks in Major League Baseball, it's hard for their own players to put balls over the fence at a consistent rate. Because of that, San Francisco took a flyer on slugger Jerar Encarnacion last year. In the midst of the 2024 season, the Giants signed him away from the Guerreros de Oaxaca of the Mexican League on May 16 by locking him into a minor league deal.
