4/04/24 Cardinals' comeback win dooms Marlins to 0-8 start. Ivan Herrera and Nolan Gorman drove in two runs apiece in the Cardinals' home opener as St. Louis rallied past the winless Miami Marlins 8-5 Thursday. The Marlins led 5-3 entering the seventh inning, but they fell to 0-8 after the Cardinals staged their comeback. Cardinals starting pitcher Lance Lynn allowed four runs on eight hits in 4 2/3 innings. Reliever Giovanny Gallegos (1-0) earned the victory and Ryan Helsley closed out the ninth inning for his second save.
