7/07/25 Brewers call up Vaughn, put Hoskins on 10-day IL. Former Chicago White Sox first baseman/outfielder Andrew Vaughn is back in the majors with the Milwaukee Brewers, who promoted him as they sent first baseman Rhys Hoskins to the injured list on Monday with a sprained left thumb. Milwaukee filled his spot on the roster by calling up Vaughn, who was acquired in a June 13 trade that sent pitcher Aaron Civale to the White Sox. Vaughn had been hitting .259 with a .338 on-base percentage, three homers and 16 RBI in 16 games with the Brewers' Triple-A Nashville affiliate.

6/20/25 Brewers Slugger Emerging As Potential Trade Deadline Gem. Trade speculation is starting to pick up when it comes to the Milwaukee Brewers. Ever since the Brewers acquired Andrew Vaughn from the Chicago White Sox it seems like Rhys Hoskins has been thrown around in some sort of trade buzz each day. This continued on Friday as MLB.com's Mark Feinsand suggested him as a fit for the first base-needy Boston Red Sox. "Rhys Hoskins, Brewers," Feinsand said.

6/19/25 Who Says No? Brewers-Red Sox To Follow Rafael Devers Split. Will the Milwaukee Brewers cut ties with a first baseman before the 2025 Major League Baseball trade deadline passes? Milwaukee recently acquired Andrew Vaughn from the Chicago White Sox which is why speculation has picked up. Rhys Hoskins was the subject of a lot of trade buzz before the season and now the noise has started back up again. If the Brewers opt to make him available -- which it hasn't been shared if he is -- the team that would make the most sense is the Boston Red Sox.

6/14/25 Aaron Civale gets what he wanted and remains a starter with quick trade to Chicago White Sox. The latest trade came Friday, a day after the Brewers announced on his 30th birthday that they were removing him from their rotation. The pitcher then said he wanted to remain a starter, even if it meant leaving Milwaukee, and that happened quickly. Milwaukee sent Civale, who is eligible for free agency after this season, to the White Sox for first baseman Andrew Vaughn and $807,000 in cash.

5/26/25 The White Sox could be making a huge mistake with their handling of Miguel Vargas. Demotions for Andrew Vaughn and Tim Elko may lead to Miguel Vargas playing more first base for the Chicago White Sox, which is not a positive development. Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer in Chicago, and this year it brought some big news out of Rate Field.

5/15/25 Elko's arrival no sweat for White Sox' Andrew Vaughn. Call Andrew Vaughn's improved offensive performance over the last week whatever you want — but don't call it a competition with rookie first baseman Tim Elko. Vaughn had gone 6-for-23 with two home runs, three doubles and four RBI since May 8, when ElkoMania hit a fever pitch among Sox fans clamoring for the team to call up the Triple-A slugger slugger and former College World Series champ with 10 home runs and a .348 batting average at Charlotte. Vaughn, the 2019 first-round draft pick who has fallen far short of sky-high expectations, said Elko's arrival hasn't put any more pressure on his shoulders — and it hasn't lit any fire under him fueling his recent uptick in production.

By Todd Welter | Share on Facebook Share on X Copy Article Nick Cammett/GettyImages Share on Facebook Share on X Share on Reddit Copy Article Andrew Vaughn was not the reason the Chicago White Sox lost 3-2 in 10 innings to the Athletics yesterday. However, he was a huge reason why the Sox tasted defeat. A baserunning gaffe made by Vaughn in the sixth inning cost the White Sox the chance to break a 1-1 tie. Then the Pale Hose finally got the lead in the 10th with the opportunity to pour on more runs, and Vaughn grounded into an inning-ending double
