7/04/25 Patriots' $36 million playmaker named most overrated player at his position. During the 2025 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots upgraded their running back, taking Ohio State's TreVeyon Henderson. Henderson spent four years with the Buckeyes, appearing in 47 games, rushing for 3,761 yards and 42 touchdowns. The 22-year-old running back was one of the main reasons Ohio State won the national championship this past season. Henderson could take over the Patriots backfield as the No. 1 running back, replacing Rhamondre Stevenson, who Gary Davenport from Bleacher Report thinks is the most overrated running back in the NFL.

7/04/25 Patriots' Embattled Weapon Receives Latest Warning. The New England Patriots decided to address their backfield in the NFL Draft, selecting TreVeyon Henderson in the second round. Henderson has a great chance of winning the starting job at some point in 2025, and that's largely thanks to the struggling pieces around him. The face of those struggles is Rhamondre Stevenson, who is recovering from a rough 2024 campaign in which he rushed for 801 yards and seven touchdowns while averaging 3.9 yards per carry. As a result, Stevenson has been viewed as a potential trade candidate for the Patriots, but that's going to be a difficult feat given the four-year, $36 million contract extension New England handed him last offseason.

7/01/25 Patriots' Bounce-Back Candidate May Surprise You. The New England Patriots made a lot of moves this offseason and have seen quite a significant roster shuffle as a result. A perfect example is running back Rhamondre Stevenson, whose starting job is obviously in jeopardy thanks to the Patriots selecting TreVeyon Henderson in the second round of the NFL Draft. Stevenson had a rough year in 2024, rushing for 801 yards and seven touchdowns while averaging a meager 3.9 yards per carry.

6/30/25 Insider Reveals Strong Patriots RB Prediction. The New England Patriots may very well have landed their running back of the future this past April, as they selected TreVeyon Henderson in the second round of the NFL Draft. Henderson will join a backfield that featured Rhamondre Stevenson as the lead runner last season, but the Ohio State product could very well surpass Stevenson. Basically, Henderson and Stevenson will represent the Patriots' top two halfbacks in some form, which has clouded the future of Antonio Gibson.
