Kody Clemens highlighted a three-run sixth-inning rally with a two-run double, Joe Ryan pitched 6 2/3 stellar innings and the visiting Minnesota Twins earned a 4-1 victory over the New York Yankees on Wednesday night following a lengthy rain delay. After a 1-hour, 52-minute delay, the Twins broke a nine-game losing streak to the Yankees, earning their first win over them since April 25, 2023. Minnesota also won for just the sixth time in its past 36 regular-season visits to New York. 8/13/25 | Joe Ryan's strong start helps Minnesota Twins end nine-game losing streak vs. New York Yankees. Two innings later, after Schlittler gave way to Yerry de los Santos, the Twins struck. OK, the first two hits, a couple of well-placed ground balls by Buxton and Keaschall, didn't leave the infield, but Kody Clemens' definitely did. He smacked the eighth pitch of his at-bat, a 3-2 high fastball, into the gap in right-center, and it rolled to the warning track, scoring the two baserunners. MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Kody Clemens and Matt Wallner homered, Ryan Jeffers had three hits and two RBIs, and the Minnesota Twins beat the Kansas City Royals 9-4 on Friday night (Aug. 8, 2025). Rookie Luke Keaschall continued his hot hitting with two singles and two RBIs. He has six hits and eight RBIs in three games after returning from a three-month stint on the IL due to a broken bone in his right forearm . Joe Ryan (11-5) allowed one run on four hits with no walks and five strikeouts over five innings for the Twins, who have won three straight. Mike Yastrzemski and Bobby Witt Jr. homered for the Royals, who have lost three of four.
