11/30/24 | The Orioles have won a lot over the last two regular seasons. Now it's time for them to win in the playoffs. Elias felt the Orioles were ahead of schedule when they won 101 games in 2023. Now the Orioles have more moves to make. Elias said pitching is at the top of the list, along with a reliable catcher to back up Adley Rutschman and righthanded-hitting outfielders. “I feel like we're in a really good position with the support that we have from ownership to explore the [market],” Elias said. 11/24/24 | Baltimore Orioles Top 10 Prospects For 2025 Fantasy Baseball. 1. C Samuel Basallo | 20 | AAA | 2025
Basallo has virtually zero chance of unseating Adley Rutschman while Adley is in town, which isn’t the end of the world because he could still sub there while mixing in at first base and DH. Nonetheless, the Inn is pretty crowded in Baltimore, and they love their reclamation projects, so who knows how long Basallo will have to wait for some extended playing time. I’m trying not to let that detract too much from a guy who I think will really hit. He even swiped ten bags last year as a 6’4” 190 lb catcher, an interesting development for an average runner playing against guys who are much older than him. He’s a good throwing catcher, so perhaps he pays a little more attention to who else might be full of openings. Source: https://razzball.com/baltimore-orioles-top-10-pros... |
11/09/24 | Baltimore Orioles Young Slugger Ranks Highly in Latest Power Rankings. One of the biggest ways that teams can be successful coming out of a rebuild is through developing their own superstars in the minor leagues, something the Baltimore Orioles have proven they are capable of doing in spades. From Adley Rutschman to Colton Cowser, the Orioles have developed a plethora of young talent that will lead the franchise to a vast amount of success in the future. One of the best players the club has developed has been shortstop Gunnar Henderson, who did the exact opposite of having a sophomore slump when he was even better during his second Major League campaign than he was in his rookie season that saw him win the AL Rookie of the Year. It was a performance that made the shortstop a household name across the baseball world and saw him rank highly in Joel Reuter's shortstop power rankings for Bleacher Report, finishing in second behind only Bobby Witt Jr. of the Kansas City Royals.
