12/10/24 | Guardians Urged to Pursue Big Trade for Cubs Star. The Cleveland Guardians are absolutely in need of some offense, but they aren't exactly a franchise known for spending big bucks. James Mastrucci of Away Back Gone has identified a very intriguing target: Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki. Apparently, Suzuki is on the trade block, and that should definitely catch the Guardians' attention. Suzuki is coming off of a 2024 campaign in which he slashed .283/.366/.482 with 21 home runs and 73 RBI over 585 plate appearances. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/guardians/news/cleveland-gu... |
12/09/24 | MLB rumors: Cubs' Seiya Suzuki trade doused in cold water. As the Chicago Cubs try to craft their perfect 2025 roster, the idea of trading Seiya Suzuki has come up. Alongside Suzuki, the Cubs are also fielding trade calls on fellow slugger Cody Bellinger. If Chicago is able to swing a deal for Bellinger – which is seemingly increasingly likely – the Cubs would then unlikely also trade Suzuki, via Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic. 12/07/24 | Guardians Should Seek Trade For Chicago Cubs Outfielder. The Cleveland Guardians and Chicago Cubs have already made one trade this offseason. Why not get back on the phone and pull off one more before spring training begins? A recent report from Joel Sherman of the New York Post revealed that Chicago could look into trading Seiya Suzuki this offseason. If the Cubs are shopping him, the Guardians should be one of the teams actively putting together packages for him. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/guardians/opinion/cleveland... |
9/28/24 | Cubs' Seiya Suzuki returns to lineup in 3-0 win against Reds, continues hot streak. Designated hitter Seiya Suzuki returned to the lineup for the Cubs' 3-0 win Saturday against the Reds, after a sprained right ankle sidelined him for two games. Suzuki has essentially replicated his production from last year, in a season where offense is down MLB-wide. Manager Craig Counsell praised Suzuki for his all-around offensive season, while lamenting the oblique strain that sidelined him for three and a half weeks in April and May. “I think Seiya was going to have a monster season, a really big season,” Counsell said. 9/26/24 | Cubs' top prospect Kevin Alcantara makes big league debut against NL East Champs. The Chicago Cubs have been eliminated from playoff contention, but they're still making moves. With their regular right fielder Seiya Suzuki hampered by an ankle injury, the Cubs have seized the opportunity to promote one of their top prospects, outfielder Kevin Alcántara. The Cubs optioned Miles Mastrobuoni to the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League to clear a spot on the active roster. In 111 minor league games this season, Alcántara slashed .278/.352/.426 with 14 home runs, 61 RBI, and 14 stolen bases. Source: https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/news/cubs-top-... |
