4/11/24 Fantasy baseball: Weekend preview April 11-14. West Division teams give us a pair of the weekend's best rivalry series, as the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers, who split a pair of games last weekend at Texas' Globe Life Field, now engage in a three-game rematch at Houston's Minute Maid Park. In it, we'll see Ronel Blanco, who recorded 44 consecutive outs before surrendering his first hit of the season -- the most by any pitcher to begin a season during the expansion era (since 1961) -- make his third start of the year.

Blanco threw 2024's first no-hitter Monday night against Toronto, then made it to the sixth against Texas on Sunday before allowing a hit. The problem for the Astros is what's happened on days Blanco didn't pitch. They have only one victory aside from his two starts. After seven straight AL Championship Series appearances, Houston is considered a World Series contender again
4/08/24 Blanco follows no-hitter with six 1-hit innings as Astros beat Rangers 3-1. Houston right-hander Ronel Blanco followed his no-hitter with one-hit ball over six scoreless innings, and the Astros beat the Texas Rangers 3-1. Six nights after throwing a no-hitter at home against Toronto in his first start of the season, Blanco held the World Series champs without a hit until Adolis García grounded a clean single up the middle with two outs in the sixth. Blanco then retired Evan Carter and was done after 90 pitches. Yordan Alvarez hit a three-run homer for the Astros, his shot in the third coming right after Dane Dunning had issued consecutive walks.
4/07/24 Astros' Ronel Blanco loses no-hitter in sixth inning vs. Rangers in first start since no-hitting Blue Jays. Blanco's 14 2/3-inning hitless streak to begin the season is the longest of the Expansion Era
4/07/24 Fresh off no-hitter, Astros' Ronel Blanco aims to subdue Rangers. Houston Astros right-hander Ronel Blanco is making a strong argument to stay in the starting rotation after Justin Verlander and Jose Urquidy return from the injured list. Blanco (1-0, 0.00 ERA) is set to make his first start since he threw the 17th no-hitter in franchise history when the Astros continue their four-game series against the rival Texas Rangers on Sunday in Arlington, Texas. Texas has outscored the Astros 17-4 in winning the first two games of the series.
