Since getting traded to the Kansas City Royals a season ago, left-hander Cole Ragans has stamped himself as one of the best pitchers in the American League. The Royals acquired Ragans in the deal that sent Aroldis Chapman to the Texas Rangers.
7/12/24 Cole Ragans shines, Royals defeat Red Sox. Cole Ragans allowed one run in seven innings to help the visiting Kansas City Royals extend their winning streak to four games by beating the Boston Red Sox 6-1 Friday night. Ragans (6-6) gave up four hits, struck out seven and walked one. Bobby Witt Jr. (No. 16 of the year) and MJ Melendez (No. 11) each hit solo home runs for the Royals, who scored a run in the first inning, three in the second, one in the fourth and one in the eighth.

7/07/24 Four Royals selected to All-Star Game for first time in eight years. For the first time since 2016 there will be four Kansas City Royals representatives at the Mid-Summer Classic. After one of the hottest start in recent franchise history, the Royals will send two position players and two pitchers to compete for the American League. On the pitching staff, the Kansas City 1-2 punch of Cole Ragans and Seth Lugo were both selected to play in their first All-Star Games.
