5/14/25 | Brett Baty bids to power Mets to sweep of Pirates. One timely hit Tuesday night provided further evidence that Brett Baty may be back in the majors for good. It also confirmed there is no shortage of players who have contributed to the New York Mets' fast start. For the Pittsburgh Pirates, repeated failures to get one timely hit served to deepen the frustrations they've experienced all season. The Mets will look to complete a series sweep on Wednesday night when they host the Pirates in the finale of a three-game set. Source: https://www.reuters.com/sports/baseball/brett-baty... |

Brett Baty hit a tiebreaking homer in the seventh inning and the New York Mets held off the punchless Pittsburgh Pirates 2-1 on Tuesday night. Brandon Nimmo had an early RBI double off hard-luck loser Mitch Keller for the NL East-leading Mets (28-15), who have won five of six to move a season-best 13 games over .500. 5/11/25 | Brett Baty continues to find offensive rhythm for Mets. It was another great day at the plate for New York Mets third baseman Brett Baty. Despite the Mets coming up short against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday, losing 6-5, Baty once again proved that he belongs in the major leagues. After hitting his second home run of the season on Friday, the 25-year-old slugged two more home runs for New York, which accounted for all five of the team's runs on the night. It was also the first time in his MLB career that Baty mashed two home runs in one game. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/mets/news/brett-baty-contin... |
5/10/25 | Former Mets top prospect still 'struggling' to make impact. On May 5, the New York Mets recalled Brett Baty from Triple-A Syracuse after it came out that Jesse Winker would require a stint on the IL. This promotion didn't come as a surprise, as Baty had been with New York up until April 24. In fact, this seemed like the start of what Mets fans had been waiting for from Baty for what has felt like years to this point. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/mets/news/former-mets-top-p... |
5/07/25 | How New York Mets could deploy infielder Brett Baty. The New York Mets have had some injury issues of late, which could play to the benefit of newly-recalled infielder Brett Baty. Jesse Winker's oblique injury was worse than initially anticipated, sidelining the veteran for 6-8 weeks, and the Mets' corresponding roster move to Winker's injured list stint was to bring Baty back to Flushing. After starting the year as the primary second baseman, Baty struggled at the plate, ceding playing time to Luisangel Acuña by the middle of April.
