7/06/25 Rangers 3B Josh Jung's Round Rock debut delayed by inclement weather. Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung will make his Triple-A Round Rock season debut. Jung, who was optioned to the minor leagues last week to make necessary swing and approach adjustments in a low-pressure environment, was scheduled to play third base and bat second for Round Rock Sunday night before the game was postponed due to inclement weather. Round Rock's Saturday game vs. the Sugar Land Space Cowboys was also postponed.

7/03/25 Should Chris Young bet on these Texas Rangers or cash in as trade deadline nears?. Josh Jung is the latest Ranger in Round Rock, the offense is in limbo and dreams of a long playoff run in ruins. Kevin Pillar recently called his former colleagues not so much a team as a collection, a 21st-century version of “25 guys, 25 cabs,” which is certainly one way to look at it. Chris Young has three weeks, maybe less, to determine which team he has on his hands. What he decides will impact not only what his Rangers do this year but in the years to come.

7/02/25 Texas Rangers send struggling Josh Jung to minors as third baseman searches for swing. Having already tried a mental reset to get struggling third baseman Josh Jung going, the Rangers will try a more dramatic physical one. Jung, the club's first round pick in 2019, didn't start Tuesday and has slashed just .158/.208/.221/.429 since June 1. “He keeps working, but I don't know what else to tell you,” manager Bruce Bochy said Monday. Be the smartest Rangers fan.

6/30/25 Inflection point is coming for Texas Rangers, Josh Jung as his struggles continue. Josh Jung reached an important milestone in his career in June: He's now got over 1,000 career MLB plate appearances. Nobody is going to say this part out loud, but the Rangers have already tried the “mental break,” approach with a couple of days off.

6/15/25 Texas Rangers follow familiar route in giving Josh Jung a chance to get back in sync. Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung was given a “mental day” and did not play Sunday's series finale vs. the Chicago White Sox at Globe Life Field. Jung had been one of Texas' most productive hitters in the season's first two months but slashed just .172/.238/.207 in 15 games prior to Sunday.

6/07/25 Texas Rangers Select Another San Antonio Star in Latest MLB Mock Draft. In the 2019 MLB draft, the Texas Rangers selected Texas Tech third baseman Josh Jung. But he also has San Antonio roots. Jung went to MacArthur High School in San Antonio before he started his collegiate career with the Red Raiders. His younger brother, Detroit Tigers infielder Jace Jung, followed in his brother's footsteps. Jung has worked out for the Rangers. He's overcome several injuries to become an everyday player for Texas and was part of the 2023 World Series run as a rookie. This season, as the Texas offense remains struck in neutral, Jung has been one of the few consistently productive players. 5/30/25 Watch: Texas Tech's Grant McCasland throws first pitch at Texas Rangers-Cardinals game. To celebrate Texas Tech Night at Globe Life Field, Red Raiders basketball coach Grant McCasland threw out the first pitch ahead of the Texas Rangers' matchup with the Cardinals. McCasland wasn't the only Red Raider involved in the first pitch as Rangers third baseman and former Texas Tech star Josh Jung caught the pitch.

5/27/25 Put in an early pitching pinch, Texas Rangers bullpen answers bell to beat Blue Jays. The Texas Rangers, by way of their own flaws and failures, have lost a few games that they'd certainly classify as winnable opportunities in recent weeks. “A lot of games this year,” third baseman Josh Jung interrupted for the sake of accuracy, “actually.” OK, fair, the Rangers have lost a lot of games that they could've won this year because their bottom-five offense has not matched their top-five pitching. It's a hapless and hopeless cycle that the Rangers have found themselves stuck in.

5/16/25 Why Texas, along with Rangers-Astros rivalry, is integral to history, future of baseball. Josh Jung is Texas through-and-through. Jung, the Texas Rangers third baseman, can vividly and painfully recall the three-and-a-half hour drive he and his family would make nearly every weekend from his San Antonio home to Houston to play travel baseball. Between them, Jung said, the family would spend every weekend of every month there.

5/13/25 Jung's 2 homers back Leiter's solid start as Rangers beat struggling Rockies 4-1. Josh Jung hit a first-inning three-run home run and an eighth-inning solo shot while Jack Leiter allowed only one run on two singles over a career-high six innings as the Texas Rangers beat the struggling Colorado Rockies 4-1 on Tuesday night. Jung’s first homer followed singles by Sam Haggerty and Wyatt Langford for the Rangers (22-21), who have won four consecutive games to move above .500 for the first time since April 30. Leiter (3-2) didn’t allow a hit after two of the first four Rockies singled, Hunter Goodman scoring Jordan Beck.

5/12/25 What Made Mother's Day 'Best Day Ever' For Jace, Josh Jung. The Detroit Tigers squared off with the Texas Rangers in Detroit on Mother's Day, and it was a special game for Jace and Josh Jung. Jace got the started at third base for the Tigers, and Josh got the start at third for the Rangers.

5/10/25 Jace and Josh Jung played tic-tac-toe while both manned third base during Rangers-Tigers. Okay, this is really cool for MLB brothers Jace and Josh Jung.

5/08/25 Boston Red Sox outfielder's catch crashing into wall feels 'same as a home run'. “Same as when you hit a home run,” Rafaela said, smiling. Rafaela sprinted back to the warning track in the ninth inning Thursday, made a catch on Josh Jung's 419-foot, 107.9 mph fly ball into the triangle and hung onto it after he crashed against the wall. The Red Sox won 5-0 over the Rangers here at Fenway Park. Reliever Liam Hendriks raised both arms as he saw Rafaela record the ninth inning's first out.

4/28/25 Patience? Discipline? Texas Rangers running out of ideas as offensive futility continues. The Texas Rangers' hitters filed one-by-one into a room adjacent to the Globe Life Field home clubhouse Monday afternoon for a longer-than-usual pregame offensive meeting. Be the smartest Rangers fan. “I think we want to be a team that just values getting to first base,” third baseman Josh Jung said. The Rangers lost 2-1 vs. the Athletics at Globe Life Field and mustered only six hits in the process.

4/27/25 Josh Jung injures right index finger during Sunday's Rangers-Giants meeting. Jung, who has also had a history of thumb trauma, had shattered his bat in the fourth inning on a fastball up and in. He did play the bottom of the fourth in the field. Jung spent much of the remainder of the inning, wiping it on his pants.

4/18/25 See what Rangers' Josh Jung said about the strange game-ending double play vs. the Dodgers. Right now, the Rangers can't even hit foul balls correctly. Instead of a foul ball and the tying run still at the plate, the game ended on a double-play when the batter, Josh Jung, stopped running. After fouling off a pair of 2-2 95 mph fastballs from reliever Tanner Scott, Jung hit a hard bouncer down the third-base line that appeared to bounce in foul territory, but kicked back towards the base. Third base umpire Nick Mahrley started to jump back to avoid the ball and his hands went up, but he signaled fair ball as Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy grabbed it.

4/09/25 Rangers 3B Josh Jung activated from injured list; Cubs get second win over Rangers. Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung was activated from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday after being sidelined because of neck spasms. Jung batted seventh against the Chicago Cubs in his first appearance since leaving Texas' win over Boston on March 28.

4/08/25 Texas Rangers activate Josh Jung from IL, reinforce bullpen; what it means moving forward. As expected the Texas Rangers activated Josh Jung from the injured list on Tuesday, but it wasn't as clean as just that. After Nathan Eovaldi went only 4 2/3 innings on Monday and Gerson Garabito had to pitch the remainder of the game, the Rangers found themselves short when it came to length in the bullpen. Josh Jung (neck spasms) was activated from the IL: It was perhaps a bit surprising that the Rangers optioned Ezequiel Duran to Triple-A Round Rock and instead kept Jonathan Ornelas as a backup infielder.
