The MLB season can be a mentally taxing grind, and recently benched Colorado Rockies center fielder Brenton Doyle has experienced this to an extreme degree both on and off the field. Doyle cranked the first pinch-hit home run of his career during a 10-3 loss to the Chicago White Sox on Saturday. “It's definitely different,” Doyle told MLB.com's Manny Randhawa. The Colorado Rockies ended an eight-game losing streak as Brenton Doyle hit a tiebreaking home run off reigning NL Cy Young Award winner Chris Sale in the third inning of a 2-1 win over the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday. Colorado had lost 16 of its previous 17 games and had been outscored by 78 runs. 4/23/25	Rockies activate OF Brenton Doyle from bereavement list. The Colorado Rockies reinstated center fielder Brenton Doyle from the bereavement list on Wednesday. In corresponding moves, the Rockies optioned fellow outfielder Zac Veen to Albuquerque and assigned left-hander Evan Justice outright to the Triple-A club after he cleared waivers. Doyle, 26, is batting .315 with three home runs and 12 RBIs in 13 games this season. He also has been slowed with a quadriceps injury and hasn't started a game since April 10. Veen, 23, made his major league debut on April 8 and hit .118 with a homer and two RBIs in 12 games. 3/08/25	Brenton Doyle: Up-And-Coming Dynasty Player. Shepherd University, which is located in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, has produced four draft picks during its history. Three of those players are people who none of us have ever heard of. But one of them is Brenton Doyle, the center fielder for the Colorado Rockies. Doyle was selected in the fourth round of the 2019 draft, and Doyle has proven to be a great selection by the Rockies. After the draft he signed with the club and was assigned to Grand Junction, the team's Rookie ball team. All he did there was slash .383/.477/.611 with eight homers, 33 RBI and 17 steals in 51 games. And all he has done since then is to continue to hit and show improvement at each level of ball he has played on. My adopted hometown team, the Colorado Rockies, played the Arizona Diamondbacks in Scottsdale, Arizona, beating Arizona by a score of 12-8. The Rockies center fielder won his second straight National League Rawlings Gold Glove Award on Sunday following another prolific defensive season. The 26-year-old is the first outfielder in NL history, and the third outfielder all-time, to win a Gold Glove in each of his first two seasons. Throughout the Rockies' difficult 101-loss season, the one positive thing they could count on was their solid and often outstanding defense. The Gold Glove Award winners will be unveiled on Nov. 3 at 6:30 p.m. MST during a “Baseball Tonight” broadcast on ESPN. Doyle, known for his athleticism, strong arm, and an array of highlight-reel plays, is seeking his second consecutive Gold Glove, and he has an excellent chance of repeating.
