8/13/25 Sac-fly is all Detroit Tigers need in win in front of 13,647 fans in Chicago. In a quick, two-hour and 19-minute game, the Detroit Tigers took care of the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday. All it took was a Wenceel Perez sacrifice fly scoring Kerry Carpenter from third base in the top of the sixth inning. The game only saw seven hits, and just one base hit, which came off the bat of Spencer Torkleson, a double. The White Sox got a hit from Luis Robert and another from Curtis Mead.

8/11/25 Tigers notes: Perez back in starting lineup; Kahnle drops down depth chart. Chicago - Outfielder Wenceel Perez's stay on the sidelines was short-lived. Perez was back in the Tigers' starting lineup Monday, after missing Sunday's game with a foot injury. Perez was batting third and playing right field in Monday's series opener against the White Sox at Rate Field. Perez has proven to be a key bat against openers, as the White Sox were set to employ in a bullpen game Monday.

7/09/25 'It's like a miracle': Parents of Tigers' Wenceel Perez in U.S. to see him play for first time. When Wenceel Perez got the call last April that he'd been promoted to the big leagues, his first call was to his parents back in the Dominican Republic. There were screams of joy and tears and they assured their son they'd do everything they could to try to get to the United States to see his debut, which was in Pittsburgh on April 8 last year. “They thought they would never be able to come to the United States,” Perez said. It took about 18 months, but the Perez family, thanks in no small part to the persistence of the Tigers, finally received their visas and on Tuesday were at Comerica Park watching their son play right field for the Tigers for the first time.
