6/15/25 Miami Marlins' Budding Star Seeing His Trade Value Skyrocket. The Miami Marlins will definitely be looking to make some moves before the MLB trade deadline, and one player's value is increasing by the day: outfielder Dane Myers. Myers continued to take during the Marlins' three-game sweep of the Washington Nationals this weekend, as he collected 10 hits, a home run and three RBI, raising his slash line to .333/.377/.481 over 138 plate appearances. There are a handful of contenders in desperate need of outfield assistance, and Myers — who has yet to even hit arbitration — should certainly pique their interest. As a matter of fact, Myers may ultimately be one of the best outfielders available in the coming weeks, and with such a shortage of them on the trade block, Miami may be able to cash in.

6/12/25 3 Marlins Sleeper Trade Candidates That Could Seriously Help Contenders. The Miami Marlins have quite a few very obvious trade candidates heading into the MLB trade deadline. There are definitely a handful, and here are three Miami players in particular who fit the bill. Dane Myers may very well be the Marlins' best-kept secret. What's more, Myers is a terrific defender capable of playing multiple outfield positions, although his primary position is center field (which is even better).

5/30/25 Marlins activate OF Myers, DFA Mervis and Simon. The Miami Marlins re-instated outfielder Dane Myers on Friday from the 10-day injured list as part of a series of roster moves that also included designating opening day first baseman Matt Mervis for assignment. Myers went on the IL on May 12 with a right oblique strain and made a rehab appearance with Triple-A Jacksonville. Mervis, acquired from Chicago last December, was one of the Marlins' best hitters over the first month of the season, with six home runs and 12 RBI through the first 20 games. "Matt I think just didn't quite really get it going offensively," Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said ahead of Friday's game against San Francisco, "and (we) just felt like it was time ... to shift gears a little bit and give some other guys a chance to come up here and see if they can be a spark and help us out."
