5/03/25 Rockies pitcher shines in 'unexpected' return to the majors. In just his second start of the season, Rockies right-hander Bradley Blalock gave Colorado exactly what it needed: a poised, effective outing from a fresh arm. Called up from Triple-A Albuquerque to replace the injured Ryan Feltner, the 24-year-old didn't disappoint — holding the San Francisco Giants to just two hits over five solid innings in Saturday's 6-3 loss at Oracle Park. “He threw the ball well,” Rockies manager Bud Black said postgame. Blalock cruised through the first five innings, retiring the first seven batters and showing veteran-level command.

Right-hander Bradley Blalock will get an attempt to crack the Colorado Rockies' rotation as Brett Wisely tries to reassert himself as a staple in the Giants' lineup when the teams continue their four-game series Saturday afternoon in San Francisco. Colorado won 4-3 on Thursday before the Giants triumphed 4-0 on Friday. Blalock (0-1, 10.29 ERA), who made the Rockies' Opening Day roster as a reliever, was sent to the minors after just two appearances, in which he allowed two runs and five hits in three innings.
