7/11/25 Yankees Promote Former Red Sox Prospect Acquired In Carlos Narvaez Trade. The Boston Red Sox landed a major heist when acquiring Carlos Narváez from the New York Yankees last offseason. At this point, the Yankees can only hope their acquisition turns a regrettable deal into a win-win. Last December, the Yankees sent Narváez to the Red Sox for Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz. While Boston certainly has no complaints over its return, the 21-year-old pitching prospect has also shown promise in New York's farm system.

6/27/25 Struggling Red Sox host Blue Jays in AL East clash. Mired in a five-game losing streak, the Boston Red Sox will look to stir up some offense Friday night when they open a three-game series against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays in a matchup of American League East teams. After losing to the Los Angeles Angels 3-2 in 10 innings on Tuesday, Boston was held to two unearned runs Wednesday when the Angels completed a three-game sweep with a 5-2 victory. The Red Sox scored twice in the first inning, but had only two baserunners after that -- on a two-out single from Carlos Narvaez in the third and a one-out walk to pinch hitter Roman Anthony in the eighth.

6/25/25 Red Sox had Angels' starter on ropes in first inning; after that, had just one hit. Hopeful that they could salvage a win and avoid a three-game series sweep with the Los Angeles Angels, things began well for the Red Sox Wednesday. A chance to snap their four-game losing streak seemed within their grasp. After scoring twice in the third, the Red Sox not only didn't score again over the final eight innings — they barely got on base again. There was a two-out single from Carlos Narvaez in the third and a one-out walk to pinch-hitter Roman Anthony in the eighth.

6/15/25 Bob Nightengale compares underrated Red Sox-Yankees trade to Babe Ruth deal. USA TODAY baseball writer Bob Nightengale is comparing a recent Boston Red Sox-New York Yankees trade to the historic Babe Ruth deal. The Red Sox acquired catcher Carlos Narvaez from the Yankees for pitching prospect Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz. Narvaez is proving to be a gem for the Red Sox, as he has come up big for the team in recent wins against New York. “It may be a century later, but the Boston Red Sox at least are getting a little payback from selling Babe Ruth to the Yankees,” Nightengale wrote for USA TODAY.

6/15/25 Game 72: Yankees at Red Sox lineups and notes for series finale. After Carlos Narvaez's walk-off heroics in the opener, six shutout innings from Hunter Dobbins were enough for Boston to claim the series on Saturday. Brayan Bello has the ball on Sunday with hopes of completing the sweep. The Yankees will counter with marquee offseason signing Max Fried, who has lived up to his hefty contract at the front of New York's rotation with a 1.84 ERA across 14 starts.
