6/29/25 | Braves Brian Snitker Sounds Off on Schwellenbach's All-Star Case. The selection process for the 95th MLB All-Star Game is in full swing, with the time for pitchers to get the nod coming soon. Coming off arguably another career game, Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker expressed high confidence in Spencer Schwellenbach being one of those selected. Snitker thinks that Schwellenbach can make it in via the player ballot that helps decide which pitchers get selected to the All-Star Game. A pitcher being hurt or pitching too close to the All-Star Game opens a spot for another game to get picked, and they're All-Stars all the same. 6/29/25 | Offense turns back into feeble self, Romano implodes and Phillies lose to Braves. Spencer Schwellenbach struck out a career-high 12 and Sean Murphy hit a grand slam as the Atlanta Braves bounced back from an embarrassing loss to beat the Philadelphia Phillies 6-1 on Saturday night. Schwellenbach (7-4) gave up one run, three hits and one walk in seven innings. Austin Riley went 2 for 4 with an RBI and Nick Allen had a run-scoring single for the Braves, who were shut out in their previous two games — including a 13-0 defeat in the series opener Friday night. Jesús Luzardo (7-4) gave up two runs on seven hits and two walks in five innings for the Phillies. Source: https://www.timesherald.com/2025/06/29/offense-tur... |
6/28/25 | Struggling Braves stars ranked among 2025's 'biggest fails'. This turbulence of this past week has epitomized the 2025 Atlanta Braves season. The Braves began their week by taking their first two games against the first-place New York Mets, extending their winning streak against their arch-rivals this season to five. Breakout ace Spencer Schwellenbach dominated the Mets offense in the first game, and the Braves offense rallied against the Mets bullpen in the second contest to secure a 7-4 victory. 6/24/25 | Bottom half of Mets' lineup continues to plague offense. The New York Mets' offensive struggles continued Monday night, as they dropped their ninth game in the last ten, losing 3–2 to the Atlanta Braves to open a four-game series. The Mets struggled early once again to score against Braves starter Spencer Schwellenbach — a trend that's become all too familiar in his outings against New York. After falling behind 3–0 and showing little life through the first five innings, the Mets appeared to gain some momentum when Juan Soto crushed a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth. Outside of Francisco Lindor, Brandon Nimmo, and Soto, the Mets' 4-through-8 hitters went a combined 0-for-18. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/mets/news/bottom-half-of-me... |
