6/18/25 | MLB Analyst Says Washington Nationals Shortstop Overlooked in All-Star Voting. The first update to all-star voting totals was released on Monday, and the results are not what fans of the Washington Nationals want to see. Budding superstar James Wood is all the way down at ninth among National League outfielders with just 383,294 votes, despite the fact that he ranks first among all NL outfielders in wRC+ at 157. Likewise, shortstop CJ Abrams did not even crack the top five, as he's all the way down at seventh place in what is, to be fair, a crowded group at shortstop. Writing for MLB.com, analyst Will Leitch broke down eight National League players who he felt deserved to be higher in the voting at their respective positions. 6/16/25 | Nationals' James Wood breaks 50 RBIs with 2-run blast vs. Rockies. Washington Nationals left fielder James Wood broke the 50 RBI mark with a clutch 2-run blast against the Colorado Rockies. The Nationals were riding an eight-game losing streak heading into this clash and falling significantly behind in the playoff hunt. The headline star is Wood, a 22-year-old whom the Nationals acquired via the Juan Soto deal in 2022. Wood hit his 18th home run of the season against the Rockies on Monday, while recording his 51st RBI. Source: https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/washington-nationals/... |
6/13/25 | Nationals' James Wood hit a home run to a place no one ever reaches. James Wood has more power than almost anyone else in baseball. And he's just getting started for the Washington Nationals. The 22-year old, 6-foot-7 outfielder hit a baseball Friday night to a place in D.C. that is pretty much never reached. There's a garage door out in centerfield well beyond the fence, just to the right of dead-center. It's about 450 feet from home plate. Wood drilled it with an absolute laser. 6/12/25 | Four Players Washington Nationals Should be Actively Shopping In Trade Market. The Washington Nationals have been much better than many people expected them to be, but that should not keep them from looking to sell at the trade deadline. The most intriguing thing about this roster has been and will remain to be the young pieces that are emerging like James Wood and MacKenzie Gore. Washington can absolutely hold on to Call and probably will, but seeing what he could fetch from a contender wouldn't be an awful idea. The Nationals have plenty of young options in the outfield with Robert Hassell III and Daylen Lile each also debuting this year. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/nationals/news/four-players... |
