Across the diamond was future Hall of Fame Joey Votto, who was on a rehab assignment for the Toronto Blue Jays with Class A Dunedin last season. Jemison, a 2018 Monroe-Woodbury graduate, was living the dream, signed by the Blue Jays from the Lexington Legends of the independent Atlantic League and getting his first taste of organized baseball. Jemison's nerves calmed down as he cleanly fielded his first in-game ground ball and fired it over to Votto for the out. His first taste of organized baseball was a moment to remember.
