2/15/24 Cobb progressing, feeling 'great' after offseason hip surgery. As Alex Cobb spoke to reporters Wednesday morning, a steady stream of young pitchers walked by and wished him a good morning. Cobb was an easy target for Webb, and not just because they've been teammates and friends for a couple of seasons. At 36, he easily is the oldest player on the roster and he's one of just two Giants with more than 10 years of service time. As he starts his 13th MLB season, Cobb has two full years on the other one, Wilmer Flores.

Alex Cobb recently spoke with NBC Sports Bay Area during the San Francisco Giants Sacramento Fan Fest event, and discussed his rehab timeline. During his discussion with NBC Sports, Cobb talked about his excitement to work with new pitching coach Bryan Price.
1/24/24 Cobb making encouraging progress in rehab from hip surgery. Giants pitcher Alex Cobb is progressing through his rehab from offseason hip surgery and doing everything he can to return to the mound as early in the 2024 MLB season as possible. Cobb spoke to NBC Sports Bay Area on Saturday at Giants Fan Fest about his rehab, providing an update on his progress and how he's feeling almost three months after surgery. "It comes in phases, so where you got to meet certain goals then you can move on to the next phase," Cobb told NBC Sports Bay Area. In speaking to reporters after the Giants' trade for veteran left-handed pitcher Robbie Ray, president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi was asked about the timeline for Ray and Cobb's midseason returns and stated that Ray, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery, likely will return shortly after the MLB All-Star break, and that the team is encouraged by Cobb's progress and believes he could return sometime in the first half of the season.
1/20/24 Alex Cobb hits milestone in recovery from hip surgery. When will he rejoin SF Giants?. The Giants' veteran starter picked up a ball for the first time since a troublesome left hip prematurely ended his season in September. Cobb, 36, had his left hip surgically repaired at the end of October, and this week took his most significant step yet on his path back to the field.
