1/10/24 2023 Los Angeles Dodgers Player Reviews: Jake Marisnick. Jake Marisnick joined the Los Angeles Dodgers in July as the front office attempted to fill their need for a right-handed bat. After cycling through multiple options early in the season, Marisnick was brought in after being designated for assignment by the Detroit Tigers on July 9. Prior to joining the Dodgers, he posted a .232/.270/.420 slash with three doubles, two triples, two home runs and 12 RBI over 33 games. Marisnick would immediately join the Dodgers on July 15, appearing in four straight games against the New York Mets and Baltimore Orioles.

Marisnick played only four games for the Dodgers, his third team of the season. Over the entire season, which started with a minor league contract with the White Sox and included a trade to the Tigers, Marisnick hit .237/.280/408 with two home runs and an 85 wRC+ in 46 games and 83 plate appearances.

The defense-first outfielder began the season on a minor league deal with the White Sox before getting called up in May. Chicago used him as a late-inning defensive replacement, as Marisnick only batted in one of his nine games there. Marisnick was traded on May 30 to the Tigers, where he started in center field for a while. During the All-Star break, Detroit sent Marisnick outright to the minors, but he declined the assignment, instead becoming a free agent.
