9/07/25 Blue Jays Starting Rotation Has Major Concerns to Overcome Down Stretch. There has been a lot of focus recently on the Toronto Blue Jays' bullpen and rightfully so given their struggles. In recent weeks, there isn't a team that has blown more saves than the Blue Jays. The production of closer Jeff Hoffman has been volatile and the team has not received the kind of positive impact they had hoped for from deadline acquisition Louis Varland. Manager John Schneider has to figure out something with the bullpen, and quickly.

8/31/25 Toronto Blue Jays closer Jeff Hoffman just made unfortunate franchise history. The Toronto Blue Jays have hit a late-season snag, and closing pitcher Jeff Hoffman is catching a lot of heat for the team's struggles. With 25 games remaining on the schedule, the Blue Jays' AL East lead has now been cut to two games with the New York Yankees breathing down their necks. It hasn't helped that Toronto has dropped four of its last six games in disappointing fashion. Two of those losses came in the ninth inning with Hoffman failing to live up to his role as the Blue Jays' closer.

8/30/25 Another Bullpen Implosion, Jays Lose to Brewers 4-1. Another pitching duel lost, although this one wasn’t blown open as dramatically as yesterday’s. Kevin Gauman was terrific, but the offence couldn’t muster much of anything and Jeff Hoffman imploded yet again. Hoffman has now given up eight runs on eight hits (four home runs) in his last four appearances, blowing three saves and picking […]

8/27/25 John Schneider's NSFW reaction to 'electric' win over Twins. The Toronto Blue Jays suffered an ugly ninth-inning collapse against the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday as reliever Jeff Hoffman blew a save opportunity. But Toronto got its revenge with an epic eighth-inning comeback in the series finale. Manager John Schneider was fired up after the Blue Jays' late-game heroics lifted the team to 78-56 on the season. Toronto is now tied with the Detroit Tigers for the best record in the American League. “That was loud. That was an electric atmosphere. These guys do not quit. They don't give a shit who they're playing against. They don't care what the situation is. I love it,” Schneider said, per MLB.com's Keegan Matheson. Addison Barger comes through in clutch

8/27/25 Blue Jays seek to shake off bullpen troubles in finale against Twins. The Toronto Blue Jays are facing some bullpen questions that will continue past the rubber match in their three-game series against the visiting Minnesota Twins on Wednesday night. Despite being fortified at the trade deadline, Toronto's bullpen continues to be inconsistent entering the stretch drive. It was never more evident than in the ninth inning on Tuesday when closer Jeff Hoffman allowed two homers and four runs in a 7-5 loss to the Twins that brought boos from the crowd. Toronto won the opener on Monday, 10-4.
