5/31/25 Pirates Make Outfield Change vs. Padres. The Pittsburgh Pirates made an important lineup change ahead of their upcoming game vs. the San Diego Padres at Petco Park. Alexander Canario comes in at left field for the Pirates, taking the place of Tommy Pham, who started the series opener. Canario has had a great month of May, slashing .296/.345/.432 with 24 hits in 81 at-bats, including three doubles, a triple, two home runs, six RBIs and six walks to 27 strikeouts. This makes it 15 starts in left field this month and 21 starts in 29 games in May, as Pirates manager Don Kelly makes Canario a main stay in his outfield.

5/16/25 Pirates Bullpen Blows Lead in Loss to Phillies. The Pittsburgh Pirates held a slight lead in the later innings, but their bullpen falled to hold onto, as they lost 8-4 to the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. Pittsburgh also drops to 15-30 overall and 6-17 on the road, with eight losses in their past nine games away from home. Philadelphia improves to 26-18 and 15-8 at home. The Pirates got their first real scoring opportunity in the top of the second inning, as right fielder Alexander Canario and first baseman Nick Solak, in his Pirates debut, hit back-to-back singles with one out.

5/13/25 Pirates Make Numerous Lineup Changes vs. Mets. The Pittsburgh Pirates put out a lineup with many changes from their previous one, as they face the New York Mets for the second time at Citi Field. Ji Hwan Bae takes over in center field for just his second start of the season and will hit eighth in the batting order, as he played left field and led off against the Miami Marlins on March 29. Alexander Canario moves from center field, where he started the past two games, and will go to left field. Bryan Reynolds stays in right field, but will move out of the No. 2 spot in the lineup, dropping to third.

5/03/25 Padres superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. joins 100/100 club vs. Pirates. Less than 24 hours after taking a 93 mph fastball off the left forearm and fearing his season might be over, the Padres superstar delivered a jaw-dropping sequence that secured a 2-1 win over the Pirates and etched his name into the history books. With the score tied in the top of the ninth and rain still fresh in the air at PNC Park, Tatis opened the inning with a scorching grounder down the third base line. The 26-year-old read the outfield alignment perfectly, saw left fielder Alexander Canario shaded toward center, and turned a base hit into a hustle double. Luis Arraez grounded out, moving Tatis to third.
